Fall Director's Ride

Join us for the Fall Director's Ride.  We did not get to go to the Hill Country in the Spring due to "the VIRUS" but we are going to make up for it by going in October when the weather is great, cooler days, and yes, we know shorter days but think of it this way, time changes on Saturday while we are there . . . DON'T FORGET TO RESET YOUR ALARM OR YOU WILL MISS KSU TO COME HOME . . . but hey, there are worse places to get left behind.

We have a block of rooms at the YO Ranch a/k/a YO Hill Country Hotel.  It will always the the YO Ranch to me, but I digress.  There is so much to see and do, a new route to get us there but of course we are still stopping in Hico at the Koffee Kup for lunch, after all, it is tradition, and they have Millionaire Pie!  After lunch the route continues south, a little diversion around Hamilton puts us on a new route but we still slide past Enchanted Rock and head into Kerrville.  Friday and Saturday presents a lot of options - you could go to Lukenbach, take Ranch Road 1776 to White (an absolutely spectacular ride) an well, Dripping Springs is not too far, so go get BBQ at the Salt Lick before heading back - bet you ride the same route back to the hotel, it is that good.  Or, you could ride 16 north, get off the bike, hike up Enchanted Rock to see what is up on top of that giant ball or pink granite (great view, not get back on the bike, you are in the Hill Country).  What if you are doing the IBET challenge?  WHAT IF????  WHY NOT????  Kerrville is on the list, so is Luckenbach, of course there is Junmction to the west, and if you head to Medina then down the 3 sisters and go ALL THE WAY TO THE END you can check off Bracketville.  And I can attest, Kerrville to Medina to Vanderpool to Bracketville then go the shortest (very twisty BTW) route to Junction and you will have checked two IBET stops off and discovered a FANTASTIC - OMG, WHY DIDN'T WE DO THIS SOONER ride in the process.  Of course you don't have to do IBET stops while it the Hill Country, good food, good shopping, and good wine (do not drink and ride) are all close by but half the fun is getting there.

The Hotel is fully booked out, they only had 30 rooms to give us, so book your room soon.  If you want one of the coveted King Beds, don't worry, hotel said they only have a few available right now but as the event gets closer we (that is you individually) can call and ask if someone cancelled and you can simply switch and keep the block rate.  They will just swap the King for the double Queen room in the reservation, so book now and get a King, or book now and get a double Queen room and change to a King later, but whatever you do, BOOK NOW!  Hopefully I was not too subtle with that one.
